WATERCOLORS

In the sketch “Brisas de Zicatela” A quiet morning on the Puerto Escondido shore — a lone figure watching the surf while the town’s familiar silhouettes rise in the distance. This sketch is a study in place and presence, with watercolor washes that bring together people and light, that define this evolving beach town.

People, Architecture, Landscapes and Food.
On location with sketchbook in hand. In the moment when creating or expressing a thought, interpreting a scene and enjoying the process of creating and communicating with pencil, paper, pen and brush.

Watercolor. I work with a basic travel kit. Cad red, cad yellow and ultra blue. burnt and raw sienna.

Growing up as one of six children in suburban Chicago I found freedom and adventure on my bicycle and solitude while reading. The balance of action and introspection broken only by my dry sense of humor, carried me thru Catholic Grade School and Private Prep School. I worked my way through College, had a career, and with the help of my very supportive family and friends I manage to stay very active.
